TWILIGHT Vamp Edi Gathegi Joins X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Actor Edi Gathegi who appeared in “Twilight” and “Twilight Saga: New Moon” has joined the cast of the upcoming X-Men reboot “X-Men: First Class.” Director Matthew Vaughn now has star studded cast set to for the film with Gathegi joining James McAvoy, Alice Eve, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, and Kevin Bacon.
Gathegi, who played the evil vampire Laurent in the first two films of the “Twilight” series, will play the bi-racial mutant Darwin. The character is the first bi-racial mutant in the comic series and features powers that allow him to adapt to any situation he finds himself in. Darwin can grow gills when underwater or night vision in pitch black scenarios. The newest X-Men film will follow the well-known mutant superheroes from a much younger age than the previous trilogy.
Gathegi’s recent work includes a role in the feature film adaptation of Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged.” That film, directed by Paul Johansson, just finished production.
