Cillian Murphy To Go To THE RETREAT With Thandie Newtown
Actor Cillian Murphy has signed on to star in the upcoming British thriller “The Retreat.” Gary Sinyor of Magnet Films will produce the film while David Frost, of Frost/Nixon fame, will executive produce the film.
Murphy will star in the film alongside Thandie Newtown as the two play a married couple who spend time at a remote island rental cottage in an attempt to save their marriage. While on the remote island the pair come across a soldier in a biohazard suit who has washed up on shore. The soldier tells the pair that everyone on the mainland has died as the result of an airborne virus. The plot continues to thicken from there. Carl Tibbetts, an editor by trade who has worked previously on “Alien vs. Predator,” will make his writing and directing debut on “The Retreat.”
Murphy can currently be seen in theaters in the Christopher Nolan directed “Inception.” He has also appeared in Nolan’s “Batman Begins” and “Dark Knight” films.
