Adams will star opposite Mortensen in the film as Jane, a junkie and mother of two who is the wife of Old Bull Lee, who will be played by Mortensen. Kirsten Dunst, Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley, and Garrett Hedlund will also appear in the movie which is going to be directed by Walter Salles based on a script from Jose Rivera. Salles and Rivera previously teamed up on “The Motorcycle Diaries.” Coppola will produce the film with the assistance of Rebecca Yeldham.
Adams will next appear on the big screen with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale in “The Fighter.” Adams recently signed on to play Janis Joplin in a biopic about the 1960s singer, a film which is expected to get underway next year.
