Mark Millar’s NEMESIS To Become A Movie
“Nemesis,” the latest comic book from Mark Millar, has been snatched up by Fox to be adapted into a feature film with Tony Scott attached to direct. Millar, a writer at Marvel, has now sold four of his comic books to studios for feature film adaptations.
Millar’s “Nemesis” comic portrays a character with the strength and resourcefulness of Batman who is as evil at his core as the Joker. Only two issues of “Nemesis” have been created by Millar, but that hasn’t stopped studios in the past from picking up Millar’s books. Millar wrote “Kick-Ass” which was picked up after just two books were published, resulting in the movie having a different ending from the book series. Scott Free will produce the film adaptation but no writer is attached yet.
Millar is the writer behind four comic books that have been, or are currently in production, to be adapted for the big screen. In addition to “Nemesis,” “Wanted” was the first to be developed, followed by “Kick-Ass.” Millar currently has “War Heroes” set for development at Columbia.
