Kristen Bell To Join Indie Comedy “DANCE OF THE MIRLITONS”
Actress Kristen Bell has joined the cast of the upcoming indie comedy film entitled “Dance of the Mirlitons.” Bell’s addition to the cast has breathed new life into the project which suffered as a result of the 2008 closing of Warner Independent.
The film, written by Evan Greenberg, follows slightly overweight young girl intent on becoming a star ballerina. The girl finds herself forced into a competitive situation in which she must prove her worth. Bell will play the role of her overbearing mother. No young actress has yet been cast in the lead role. The initial story for the film was written by Greenberg, who will also direct the film, years ago and was listed on the 2005 Blacklist alongside movies such as “Juno” and “Lars and the Real Girl.”
Greenberg and producers are hoping to discover a new talent to play the role of the young ballerina in their film. Both sides are hoping to find a 10-13 year old with undiscovered talent to star in the film. Bell can next be seen in theaters in “Burlesque” which hits theaters on November 24.
