J.J. Abrams To Produce 7 MINUTES IN HEAVEN
Director and producer J.J. Abrams is joining forces with Jack Bender to produce a thriller entitled “7 Minutes in Heaven.” Bender, who recently directed the final episode of “Lost,” developed the idea for the film from the teenage closet kissing game. Abrams will help develop the film through his Bad Robot group.
The plot details for the project are being kept secret; all that is known so far is two teens in the film head into the closet for a little snogging only to find that their friends are all dead when they come out. The search is on for a writer to develop the script for the film. Bender signed a deal in June with Bad Robot to produce films through the group and “7 Minutes in Heaven” will be his to direct. Bad Robot will produce the film through Paramount, the studio home of Abrams’ production group.
Abrams is going to be a very busy man in the coming months with directing projects including “Super 8,” a follow up to “Star Trek,” and “Mission Impossible 4.” Bender is currently working out a deal with Paramount, separate of Bad Robot, to direct the studio’s new Jack Ryan project.
