List Of Directors For “Hunger Games” Narrowed To Three
As we previously found out from our friends over at Daemon’s Books, Lionsgate is currently casting the roles for its new movie “The Hunger Games” with Chloe Moretz as a frontrunner as Katniss.
The studio is also narrowing down the list of potential directors for “The Hunger Games” to three major directors with a decision expected late this week. Gary Ross, Sam Mendes and David Slade are considered to be the final three candidates to direct the adaptation.
“The Hunger Games” is based upon the novel series from writer Suzanne Collins and will be developed into a feature film trilogy by the studio. The script for the project has been a tightly guarded secret, never allowed to leave company headquarters. Collins’ novel series has been very popular among teens and adults, much like the “Twilight” series which has been wildly successful at the box office.
The final installment of the series from Collins, “Mockingjay,” has sold 450,000 copies since August 24 when it was released. Publisher Scholastic is rushing to print more copies.
This is a great book series that my kids have gotten me into. It certainly beckons for some first rate Hollywood treatment!
