Michael Caine To Join “Journey To The Center Of The Earth” Sequel
Veteran actor Michael Caine is wrapping up a deal that would see him join the cast of the upcoming sequel to the film “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” The sequel has been entitled “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.”
Josh Hutcherson is returning from the original film to reprise his role in the sequel and will be joined by Dwayne Johnson and Caine. In the sequel, which is based loosely upon “The Mysterious Island” from Jules Verne, Hutcherson will team with his Mom’s boyfriend (Johnson) to go on a quest to find his missing grandfather. Caine has been cast as the grandfather in the film.
Caine most recently starred in the British thriller “Harry Brown,” and has become a favorite of director Christopher Nolan, appearing in both recent “Batman” films as well as “Inception.”
