Ronald Reagan Movie Biopic Planned
Reagan overcame a simple childhood to become a Hollywood actor, and transitioned once again to an even more prestigious position as the leader of the free world. Now the 40th President of the United States will have a feature film to honor him.
Producer Mark Joseph optioned a pair of books about Reagan four years ago, and now plans to develop a biopic with Ralph Winter based on a script from Jonas McCord. The aforementioned books are “The Crusader” and “God and Ronald Reagan,” both of which were written by Paul Kengor.
A made for television miniseries about Reagan was produced seven years ago and set to air on CBS, but controversies surrounding the film forced it to air only on premium channel Showtime. No actors or directors are yet attached to the project.
