Robert Redford’s “The Conspirator” Gets a Distributor
Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate have teamed up to acquire the U.S. distribution rights to the film “The Conspirator.” The film, which debuted this week at the Toronto International Film Festival, was directed by Robert Redford.
The movie tells the tale of Mary Saratt’s trial for the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Robin Wright stars in the film which tackles a little known tale from U.S. history. In the deal, Roadside will release the film in the spring of 2011 with Lionsgate television partner Epix gaining premium TV rights to the film.
The film is the first project from the new Joe Rickett’s American Film Co. and premiered on Saturday night at Roy Thomson Hall during the Toronto International Film Festival.
