Christopher Plummer Joins Cast of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”
Veteran actor Christopher Plummer has been cast in a leading role in the upcoming U.S. adaptation of the film and book series “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” The novel series was written by Swedish author Stieg Larsson and the U.S. adaptation is set up at Columbia.
Plummer will play the role of a wealthy industrialist who hires a disgraced reporter and a tattooed hacker to help him solve a murder nearly half a century old. Daniel Craig will play the role of the reporter in the adaptation with relatively unknown actress Rooney Mara playing the lead female role. David Fincher is directing the film which has already begun production in Sweden.
Plummer last appeared on the big screen in “Up,” where he lent his voice as the villain in the animated film from Disney and Pixar.
