Seann William Scott and Jay Baruchel Ready to “Goon” It Up
Seann William Scott and Jay Baruchel have signed on to star in the upcoming indie comedy “Goon.” Michael Dowse is directing the hockey comedy which will begin filming in Winnipeg in mid-October.
Scott and Baruchel join a cast that already includes Alison Pill and Marc-Andre Grondin for a film project that is an adaptation of the book “Goon: The True Story of an Unlikely Journey into Minor League Hockey” written by Doug Smith and Adam Frattasio. In the film Scott plays the lead character who is a bouncer that believes God has touched him and granted him a right hook and the ability to skate. He goes on to join a downtrodden team and lead them to the top.
Baruchel recently starred in “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” while Scott’s last appearance came in “Cop Out.”
