New SPIDER-MAN 4 Villain Is The Lizard!

As reported earlier in the week, Rhys Ifans has been cast as the new villain in Marc Webb’s Spider-Man. Today Sony released the identity of their new Spidey villain. Ifans will be playing Dr. Curt Connors, AKA The Lizard!

There was speculation that Venom would be back for the Spider-Man reboot, but this is not the case; Venom will not be featured in the film.

Andrew Garfield stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Emma Stone as his leading lady Gwen Stacy. in the comic series, Gwen is actually introduced as a love interest for Peter before Mary Jane Watson.

Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin are producing Spider-Man, which will begin production in December. Spider-Man is expected to hit theaters in 3-D on July 3rd, 2012.
