Paramount Has TOP GUN 2 In The Works
It looks like a TOP GUN sequel is on its way! According to New York magazine’s Vulture blog: Paramount has made an offer to Jerry Bruckheimer to produce and is also looking to have Tony Scott direct. Christopher McQuarrie is being looked at to pen the script.
Tom Cruise is expected to appear as Maverick, the role that he played in the 1986 version of Top Gun.
David Ellison, the 27-year old son of Larry Ellison founder of Oracle software, is driving the project. David is a trained aerobatic pilot and recently raised $350 million to finance films and has struck a deal with Viacom’s Paramount Pictures!
The first collaboration between Ellison and Paramount will be Mission: Impossible 4, starring Tom Cruise which is set to be released on December 16th, 2011.
