Auditions have already gotten underway for the leading female role in the film, that of a Colonial Marine general. According to sources at Nymag.com Natalie Portman is the top candidate to fill the role. Portman impressed Fox executives as well as Ridley Scott’s representatives in the audition process. Portman does have competition however in the form of Noomi Rapace.
Portman was scheduled to star in Seth Grahame-Smith’s upcoming film “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” but recently backed out of the project. Rapace starred in the Swedish versions of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” film franchise.
