Paul Verhoeven To Direct New Ghost Story ETERNAL

Paul Verhoeven

Director Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct) has made a deal to direct the new supernatural thriller ETERNAL.

Eternal follows the story of a recovering alcoholic who talks a woman out of jumping off of the Golden Gate Bridge. They end up having an affair, and when the man returns home he finds his wife and a private investigator waiting for him with photographs. But the photographs aren’t of him and the mystery woman; instead they show him drinking alone. As the story progresses, the man realizes he’s not crazy, but that the woman is a succubus after his soul.

Sidney Kimel Entertainment has developed Eternal from a script written by David Loughery (Obsessed). In addition to Verhoeven directing, Richard D’Ovidio (Exit Wounds) will do a rewrite.

Eternal will be produced by Kimmel, John Penotti (Greene Street Films), Peter Block (A Bigger Boat), and Charles Segars (Sparkler Entertainment). Production is targeted to start next summer.
