James Cameron Behind FANTASTIC VOYAGE

James Cameron

James Cameron, the brains behind "Avatar," and Laeta Kalogridis will reunite to work on the Fox remake project entitled "Fantastic Voyage." Kalogridis wrote the script for "Avatar" and will handle the rewriting duties for the remake of the 1966 sci-fi film that will be produced by Cameron.

Kalogridis is the latest in a line of scribes hired to work on the script for the remake of the sci-fi classic. Other writers who have attempted to, or considered attempting to, rewrite the script include Shane Salerno, Cormac and Marianne Wibberly, and Paul Greengrass. The story of the film centers on a team of scientists who are shrunken down and sent inside a man's body via a tiny submarine to try and save his life.

Kalogridis received credit as an executive producer on "Avatar" for her work on the script. Her other works include writing "Shutter Island" for Martin Scorcese.
