Mark Wahlberg to Star In Seth MacFarlane’s TED

Mark Wahlberg

Actor Mark Wahlberg will appear in another buddy comedy in the near future as he recently agreed to star in the film "Ted." The film is from Seth MacFarlane, the creator of TV's "Family Guy," who will be making his feature film directorial debut.

Wahlberg will star as a man from Boston who made a wish in his childhood to have his teddy bear come to life, and it came true. When Wahlberg's character grows up, the bear becomes a distraction as he is an irresponsible slacker who prevents the main character from acting like an adult and committing to his girlfriend.

Wahlberg can next be seen on the big screen in "The Fighter" as Boston fighter Irish Mickey Ward. He is also slated to appear in "Contraband," the English remake of a 2008 Icelandic film.

I think Wahlberg is a mistake. Seth should have done both parts with co-star Mila Kunis who would hopefully, to some degree re-create her role in That 70s show as jackie burkhardt. One of the best teen roles in TV history. I think MacFarlane and Kunis would have great screen chemistry cause they look so good together. If Seth couldn’t get Seth Rogen than he should have tried for James Franco or Leo DiCaprio. Wouldn’t Leo have been an interesting choice? That would have put MacFarlane and Kunis on the Hollywood A-list. There are so many celebrities these day and so few good actors but I think Seth MacFarlane and Mila Kunis are exceptions.

I agree that Mark Walhberg is not the best choice in the world but I like him. Interested in seeing what he can bring to the table.

the real question is why did macfarlane choose wahlberg? Have I been giving him too much credit for family guy and should more of it have gone to his staff? I just think wahlberg is such a poor choice. Couldn’t he get anyone else? He obviously doesn’t think he and mila have the star power to attract a big enough audience for the picture. I also think wahlberg looks too old for that kind of a role. Oh well….i quess if macfarlane is good enough he’ll get other opportunities….too bad i was looking forward to the movie. I hope they can still get kunis for the role cause I can’t see anyone else in it. However I don’t think kunis and wahlberg make a good screen match. They lacked chemistry in Max Payne.
