Sam Raimi Horror Project “Dibbuk Box” Gets A Director
Ole Bornedal, a highly acclaimed Danish filmmaker, has been set in place to direct the horror film "Dibbuk Box." The project is controlled by Lionsgate and will be produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert.
The film is a twist on a set of real life events in which a family becomes stuck under the curse of an evil box they receive. The story follows the family's attempt to get rid of the box and follows their struggles along the way. The film's story reportedly comes from an article entitled "A Jinx in a Box," which was written by Leslie Gornstein and was published in the Los Angeles Times. The film is expected to begin production in January 2011.
Bornedal's efforts on this project will be his second with Lionsgate. He is currently working with the company on remaking his 2007 Danish film "The Substitute."
