Steven Spielberg to Direct “Robopocalypse”
Director and Producer Steven Spielberg has his next film project all lined up, the sci-fi film "Robopocalypse." DreamWorks and Disney are behind the project which is an adaptation of the sci-fi novel by the same title.
The story is that of a post-apocalyptic world in which robots are the dominant force. DreamWorks and Disney picked up the project a little over a year ago and now have Spielberg lined up to direct the feature film adaptation. Drew Goddard, the scribe behind "Cloverfield," will be writing the script for "Robopocalypse."
Spielberg initially passed over this project earlier this year, instead choosing to devote his time to the World War I project "War Horse." With that project set to hit theaters December 28, 2011, it didn't appear Spielberg would be able to do both. Reportedly however, Goddard's presence on the project helped lure Spielberg back to do this one as well.
