Noomi Rapace To Star In Boxing Film With Ex-Husband
Noomi Rapace, the Swedish actress of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series, is set to take the lead in a new boxing film working opposite her ex-husband.
The untitled film is a biopic about the Swedish boxer Boss Hogberg, which will be played by Ola Rapace, Noomi’s ex-husband. The pair were married for seven years and recently split, but remain on good terms. Noomi will play cabaret singer Anita Lindblom the boxer’s wife.
The life of Boss Hogberg is the center of the film: growing up in a working-class Gothenburg neighborhood, Hogberg won the light-middleweight title, had a problem with alcohol, ran into legal trouble, and was a big ladies man. However, his life changed when he met and married Lindblom.
The film is set to shoot as early as this summer in Sweden and France to work with Noomi’s busy schedule.
She is set to play Lisbeth Salander one last time in this weekend’s The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, and before her success with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Noomi could be seen in many Scandinavian films, and is set to star in Sherlock Holmes 2 and the vampire movie The Last Voyage of Demeter.
