Mike White To Direct PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, the novel that brought Jane Austen’s classic into the world of the zombie apocalypse, may have found it’s director. Lionsgate offered the position to Mike White (Year of the Dog), and is now waiting to see if the offer will be accepted.
Other names that were considered for the film’s director were Neil Marshall and Jeffery Blitz, and with the decision to offer White the position, it seems like Lionsgate is going to take the project in a comedic direction; which is exactly what the film adaptation needs.
Pride And Prejudice And Zombies is still looking for an Elizabeth Bennett, and Scarlett Johansson’s name has been thrown around, but not officially confirmed. Johansson has signed on for two other projects Under The Skin, and We Bought a Zoo, so if Lionsgate wants her, they may want to make a move quickly as her schedule is filling up!
Bradley Cooper is still signed on as Darcy, even through all the uncertainty that the project has been through in the last few months. There is no date set for filming to begin; but hopefully White will accept the director offer and Pride And Prejudice And Zombies can start rolling!
