Casting For SUPERMAN Reboot Begins
Warner Bros. is looking for the new Man of Steel. Producer Chris Nolan and director Zack Snyder are beginning their search for the perfect actor to star in their reboot of the SUPERMAN series.
According to sources, the studio is looking to hire a no name actor, or a TV star, but one that isn’t well known. The age range they’re looking for is between 28 – 32, and since this the role of Superman, he needs to have a certain look. Nolan and Snyder are expected to look at hundreds of actors before making their final decisions.
A TV series regular may not even work; shooting for the Superman reboot is expected to begin production next June, which could be detrimental to shooting schedules for fall prime time.
The Superman franchise has, from it’s start, hired unknown or lesser known actors. Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh for the big screen, and on the small screen George Reeves, Tom Welling, and Dean Cain were all discoveries.
Warner Bros. is producing Superman with Legendary Pictures, with David S. Goyer and Snyder writing the script. Producers on the picture also include Nolan and partner Emma Thomas, Charley Royen and Deborah Snyder. Thomas Tull is executive producer.
