Joel McHale Will Host Independent Spirit Awards
Joel McHale, the host of E!’s The Soup and star of NBC’s Community will host the Independent Spirit Awards.
The awards show was founded in 1984 by Film Independent, and is to honor the independent film industry. Dawn Husdon, the executive director of Film Independent says McHale’s “quick wit, talent and charm makes him a perfect fit.”
McHale can be seen in Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids 4 with Jessica Alba, and his next two films What’s Your Number and The Big Year, have summer release dates.
Eva Mendes and Jeremy Renner will announce the Spirit Award nominees at the London West Hollywood Hotel on November 30th. The awards will air from Santa Monica on February 26, 2011.
