Joss Whedon Passed on BUFFY Reboot?
Remember last week when everyone (myself included) went into an angry fit that Joss Whedon wouldn’t be involved in the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER reboot? And remember Joss’ heartfelt “leave me to my pain” letter that made fans love him even more?
Well, fans of the Scooby Gang, I hate to break this to you, but our beloved Joss actually PASSED on the reboot of Buffy. Yes, you read that right! Joss was approached last year after Fran Rubel Kuzui and Kaz Kuzui (rightsholder for Buffy) began the development of the film with Vertigo.
When presented, Joss decided that he’d rather work on other projects like his current The Avengers with Marvel Studios. It was after Joss bowed out that the producers began their search for a new writer and hired writer Whit Anderson.
Anderson, who is an unknown, apparently had strong stories to tell regarding the Buffy mythology and Atlas decided to partner with Vertigo to set up the reboot at the studio. Fox, who distributed the 1992 film version of Buffy passed on the film, but Warners stepped up to take on the reboot.
What do you think? Did this news change your feelings towards Joss? And will you see the Buffy reboot if he’s not involved?

I don’t blame Whedon for avoiding working with the Kuzui anymore. They have proven with the first Buffy movie to be bossy, without esteem for the writers, and being without taste.
