FilmDistrict Joins Netflix For Instant Streaming
FilmDistrict is the most recent studio to sign with Netflix and it’s instantly streaming program. Using a Netflix device, users can stream movies and TV instantly to their televisions. The feature is unlimited and included in Netflix’s monthly fee. Netflix just recently added a “streaming only” package to their subscription options for their customers.
The films Drive and Lockout will be the first movies offeres under the new FilmDistrict/Netflix partnership. The deal allows Netflix to stream the movies for a few months after the film’s release.
“Netflix has a long and successful history working with (FilmDistrict principles) Peter Schlessel and Bob Berney, and I have long admired Graham King’s amazing production success with movies like The Departed and Blood Diamond, which are among the most watched and highly rated movies of all time by Netflix members,” said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer for Netflix.
“Netflix has strategically developed a bold business model and they love movies,” added Berney. “They have cultivated a loyal audience that gives FilmDistrict great opportunities for growth.”
