21 JUMP STREET Officially Lands Channing Tatum
The rumors have been confirmed, Channing Tatum will join Jonah Hill in the film adaptation of 21 JUMP STREET, Columbia Pictures announced this morning. Tatum will also serve as an executive producer on Jump Street.
The film is based on the show that aired in the 80s about police officers that go under cover in high schools as students to stop crimes that were occurring. The show launched Johnny Depp’s career, but there’s no word if Depp will make an appearance in the film.
The characters that Hill and Tatum are playing will not be reboots from the original series.
21 Jump Street will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Hill wrote the initial script and the screenplay has been written by Michael Bacall. Hannah Minghella and Jonathan Kadin will oversee the production for Columbia Pictures.
