Wachowskis and Warner Bros. Take On HOOD
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Andy and Lana (formerly Larry) Wachowski are going to be working with Warner Bros. again. The collaboration will be over the studio’s new film HOOD, which the Wachowski’s have written and are set to direct. The Wachowskis worked with Warner Bros. back on 1999’s The Matrix and while there was some tension during 2008’s unfortunate flop, Speed Racer, this new venture shows that there appear to be no hard feelings between the studio and the duo.
Hood will be a modern and urban take on the Robin Hood myth, though all other information about the film is being kept tightly under wraps, a fairly normal occurrence with the sibling writers/directors. Though some industry insiders have reported that the pair have already started reaching out to actors. With names like Will Smith being bandied about and knowing their other films, we can guess that it will be a treat for the eyes as well as a good story.
Currently The Wachowskis have been hard at work on their Iraqi war movie, CN-9, which is told from the point of view of archeologists, who find footage of the war and try to figure out what happened. The movie includes the story two male soldiers who fall in love, as well a plot to assassinate George W. Bush.
