Carey Mulligan Signs On To Steve McQueen’s SHAME
In his next indie project, Steve McQueen will direct Carey Mulligan in SHAME, the story of a man in his thirties living in New York, who is unable to manage his sex life. Mulligan will play the sister of the Michael Fassbender’s character.
Mulligan has just been cast as Daisy Buchannan in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, where she beat out many actresses, including Scarlett Johansson, for the role.
The Shame screenplay has been written by Abi Morgan (Brick Lane) with McQueen, and the film will be produced by Iaian Canning, who developed the project with Film4. Shame has been pre-sold to several territories including MK2 in France and Prokino in Germany.
Shame begins shooting on location in New York in January.
