Cate Blanchett Will Be Back In THE HOBBIT
Good news Middle Earth fans! Cate Blanchett will be back as Galadriel in Peter Jackson’s adaptation of THE HOBBIT. Blanchett first played to role in Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and officially signed this week to bring the Lady of Lothlorien back to the big screen.
“Cate is one of my favorite actors to work with,” Jackson said, “and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her reprise the role she so beautifully brought to life in the earlier film.”
In addition to Blanchett, The Hobbit has added a few other cast members: Ken Stottas will play Balin, the Dwarf Lord, Radagast the Brown (a wizard) will be playedb by Sylvester McCoy, and Mikael Persbrandt will take on the role of the shape-shifter Beom.
The Hobbit begins principle photography in February, and will be made into two films. The films are expected to be released December of 2012 and December 2013.
