100 Disc Blu-Ray Server Is Launched By Kaleidescape

Kaleidescape 100 Disc Vault

Kaleidescape has made good on it’s promise to produce the first Blu-Ray server. The company will release the new 100 disc Blu-Ray vault that they showed at CEDIA, and when the server is paired with Kaleidescape’s M300 or M500 players, the server will rip, store, and stream Blu-Ray movies throughout your home.

The server will cost you $1,495 (which doesn’t include the player – those are on the upside of $2.500) and will still come with some restrictions. Each disc “vault” has to be connected to an individual player, and the discs have to be in the vault for the ripped copies to stream over a network.

Sony offers a 400 disc changer, but while it stores more titles, Kaleidescape’s should load them faster and allow cover art and title info to display.
