Eric Bana Looking At ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER
Just a few days after British actor Daniel Day-Lewis signs to play Abraham Lincoln in Spielberg’s Lincoln, Eric Bana is eyeing up the role of the 16th president for ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER.
20th Century Fox is adapting the Seth Grahame-Smith novel that reads as a biography of Lincoln based on “secret diaries” that Lincoln kept. In the novel, the diaries were given to the author from a vampire named Henry Sturges, who saved the president’s life when he was a teenager. Sturges and Lincoln eventually become friends, and the vampire in turn, teaches Lincoln to hunt and kill vampires.
Bana is circling the role, and while he hasn’t signed yet, he is scheduled to meet with director Timur Bekmambetoy in the near future.
Vampire Hunter is being produced by Tim Burton and is set to be released on June 22, 2012.
