Jeffrey Dean Morgan Cast in Horror Movie DIBBUK BOX
Wondering what Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been up to since his Watchmen days? Variety is reporting that the star will be back in Lionsgate’s Halloween release DIBBUK BOX, a movie about a man who opens an antique box built to contain a “dibbuk” (discloated spirit) that ultimately inhabits and devours the human soul. Morgan will play a recently divorced father who becomes concerned when his daughter starts experiencing erratic behavoir after purchasing the box at a yard sale. The film will be helmed by Danish filmmaker Ole Bornedal and produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. Juliet Snowden and Stiles White will write the screenplay, which is said to be inspired by true events.
Morgan was last seen in the comic book adaptation The Losers, and will soon be seen opposite Sam Worthington and Chloe Moretz in the indie murder mystery The Fields.
Dibbuks Box is a big risk for Lionsgate, as it marks the first time in seven years the studio will not release a new installment of the Saw franchise that has been so popular with horror enthusiasts.
What do you think? Are you sad that there won’t be another Saw movie to look forward to? Are you excited to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan on screen again?
