MIDNIGHT IN PARIS Acquired by Sony Pictures Classics
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Classics announced that it has acquired all North American rights toWoody Allen’s latest film, Midnight in Paris.
SPC’sMichael Barker and Tom Bernard in a joint statement about the acquisition:
“Midnight in Paris is Woody Allen at his most magical. We couldn’t be more pleased to be back with Woody, Letty and their entire team, as well as our friends at Mediapro.”
Midnight in Paris stars Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen and Owen Wilson.
Produced by Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures, the film was financed by Mediapro, the Spain-based company that also funded Allen’s last two films, Vicky Christina Barcelona and You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.
SPC also released Stranger, as well as Allen’s Sweet and Lowdown and Whatever Works.
Allen said, of working with SPC again:
“They have great sensitivity toward my work.”
