Anthony La Paglia To Adapt Arthur Miller’s A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE For Film

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Anthony La Palgia will be adapting Arthur Miller’s A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE for the big screen. La Paglia, who won a 1998 Tony Award for portrayal of Eddie Carbone in the Broadway show, will both produce and star in the film, which is set to begin shooting in June. Andrew Bovell has been tapped to write the screenplay.
A View From The Bridge follows the story longshoreman Eddie Carbone, his wife Beatrice and her orphaned niece Catherine during 1950′s Brooklyn. Although there are plans to shoot in New York, where the play is originally based, filming will primarily take place in Melbourne as partial financing for the feature is being provided through the Victorian government’s Production Investment Attraction Fund.
In addition to La Paglia, the film will also star Mia Wasikowska, Sam Neill, Vera Farmiga and newcomer Sebastian Stan.
