Customers Lash out at Netflix Decision
Last week, Netflix announced that they would be removing the “add to DVD queue” option on their streaming devices. As an AVID (for real – I’d probably have to go through therapy if I didn’t have my instant Netflix) user of the streaming service that Netflix provides, I wasn’t overly worried about this change.
Apparently I was one of the few.
Netflix has stated that they’ve removed the “add to DVD queue” option to free up resources and “improve the overall streaming experience”, but many people are saying that the option is going away so customers won’t realize that Netflix has a very limited streaming library in comparison to their massive selection on physical DVD.
Other Netflix customers are stating that the “add to DVD queue” feature on their streaming devices was a matter of convenience – they wanted to manage their DVD queues directly from their streaming device. I can see both sides.
Personally, I’ll watch anything and have found more than enough movies streaming on Netflix to hold my interest. However, I also did love the option to search for a film and add it directly to my queue if I couldn’t watch it instantly. This change will not
affect my love of Netflix.
The change will also not have any affect on the actual Netflix website. Customers will still be able to mange their DVD and instant queues from www.netflix.com.
