Screenwriter Emma Forrest’s Memoir YOUR VOICE IN MY HEAD Adapted For Film
YOUR VOICE IN MY HEAD, the memoir of Los Angeles screenwriter Emma Forrest will hit the big screen. Ruby Films, the production company behind the new Jane Eyre has optioned the project.
Forrest’s memoir is her life at 22, when she attempted suicide but was saved by a New York psychiatrist. The plot thickens since Forrest’s memoir is also about actor Colin Farrell, her ex-lover.
While Farrell is never named in the book, Forrest did tell warn the actor that there would be a lot of British tabloid interest, and offered Farrell the option to read it before it was published. Farrell declined; and it’s not clear if he’s aware the book is becoming a film.
This isn’t the first time that Forrest has used Farrell in a story. When their year long relationship ended, she wrote Liars (A-E) about a woman who is consumed by President Obama’s seemingly perfect marriage, and travels across the country to the inauguration. Along the way, she stops off at her ex-boyfriends to find out why they broke up with her.
Alison Owen of Ruby films is excited about Your Voice In My Head. “It will make a brilliant film,” she stated.
