Orlando Bloom, Imogen Poots Cast in THE LAUREATE
Add another film to the list of projects that British star Orlando Bloom has lined up for 2011. The Playlist reports that Bloom, along with actress Imogen Poots, has been added to the cast of THE LAUREATE, a film from writer/director William Nunez and Media 8.
The Laureate centers on the love triangle between war poet Roger Graves (Bloom) his artist wife Nancy Nicholson (Irish actress Kerry Condon) and American poet Laura Riding (Poots), all who lived together in Cairo and London in an open triangle. Nunez’s project was first announced at Cannes last year, with the attached names of actors Dominic Cooper and Hayley Atwell. Both have since dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts, leading the director to consider Bloom and Poots.
Best known for his break-out role as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings franchise, Bloom will be next seen in Anderson’s The Three Musketeers. He also is expected to reprise his role of Legolas in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit, although no official word has been reported. Imogen Poots stars in the upcoming Fright Night, and will also be seen in the much-anticipated Jane Eyre with Michael Fassbender, as well as the indie film A Late Quartet with Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Catherine Keener.
