Mia Wasikowska Looking to Star in STOKER
Actress Mia Wasikowska, the break-out film beauty of Disney’s Alice In Wonderland, is currently in talks to star in the Fox thriller STOKER, according to Deadline.com. The film will be directed by Chan-wook Park with a script penned by Prison Break star Wentworth Miller (who wrote under the pseudonym Ted Foulke.)
Wasikowska will play an eccentric teen whose estranged uncle returns to the family after the death of the girl’s father. When the script was originally sold, actress Carey Mulligan had been attached to the project. However, it is now being said that when the film starts production this spring, it may be Wasikowska who is in the lead role. Reportedly, Jodie Foster had also been attached to the role, though she has since decided not to be involved with the film.
The Australian actress, best known for playing the title role in the top-grossing Alice in Wonderland, recently starred in The Kids Are All Right, which was just named a Best Picture Oscar nominee earlier this week. She just completed production of Jane Eyre with Michael Fassbender, in which she plays the title role.
