Brian De Palma Set to Direct PASSION
Brian De Palma (Scarface, Mission: Impossible) hasn’t directed a film since 2007’s Redacted, but he seems to have decided on his next project. Collider reports it will be PASSION, a remake of the 2010 French thriller Crime d’amour (Love Crime) about the rapidly escalating feud between two executives (a mentor and her up-and-coming assistant).
The original film starred Kristin Scott Thomas and Ludivine Sagnier and was directed by the late Alain Corneau. De Palma will set his take in the United Kingdom and the production will be a co-production between France, Germany, UK, and Spain.
De Palma had this to say about Passion,
“Not since Dressed to Kill have I had a chance to combine eroticism, suspense, mystery and murder into one spell-binding cinematic experience”
Shooting is set to begin in August with casting announcements expected by May’s Cannes Film Festival.
