Little Miss Sunshine Team and Co-Star Reunite for HE LOVES ME
Little Miss Sunshine is one of my comfort flicks: a movie I turn to when I want a boost, so the news that much of the team behind that little indie film that could is reuniting makes me very happy.
The LA Times reports that Paul Dano, who starred in Little Miss Sunshine as the (mostly) silent Dwayne will play the lead in HE LOVES ME, a movie written by his real-life girlfriend Zoe Kazan (she will also co-star). Sunshine directors Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton are on board to helm, which is especially exciting since they haven’t directed anything since. Producing will be Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, and yes, they were both producers on Sunshine.
In He Loves Me, Dano will play a young novelist who faces difficulty after early success. Suffering from writer’s block, he is advised to write a woman he believes will love him and in so doing, he wills her into existence.
Kazan has written one draft of the script and is now working with Faris and Dayton on another. Berger and Yerxa want to make He Loves Me a priority project and hope to finish casting soon. It will most likely be financed independently.
How does He Loves Me sound to you? Do you think lightning can strike twice for this team?
