Meryl Streep and Prada Director David Frankel Reteam for GREAT HOPE SPRINGS
From the very good ideas department, Mandate Pictures has announced that Meryl Streep is in final negotiations to star in the comedy GREAT HOPE SPRINGS, reteaming her with The Devil Wears Prada director David Frankel.
The screenplay was written by Vanessa Taylor and is featured on the prestigious Black List (where Hollywood executives vote on their favorite scripts–Juno and The Social Network are both former Black List screenplays), follows a middle-aged couple who after thirty years of marriage attend an intense counseling weekend to examine the intimacy issues that are threatening their marriage.
Guymon Casady of Film 360, the feature film production entity of Management 360, and Todd Black for his Escape Artists banner will produce. Mandate president Nathan Kahane, Escape Artists’ Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will executive produce. Mandate’s Lawrence Grey will co-produce. Escape Artists’ Chris Coggins and Lance Johnson will serve as associate producers.
No male lead has been cast yet, but filming on Great Hope Springs is expected to begin in August. No release date has been mentioned.
Who should play the husband? Is Stanley Tucci too obvious?
