Nathan Fillion & Elisabeth Moss To Voice Animated GREEN LANTERN Film
It’s a good news day for the legions of fans that once rallied for popular actor Nathan Fillion to be cast in The Green Lantern. Although the big-budget role ultimately went to actor Ryan Reynolds, Heat Vision has learned that Fillion will still get to be a part of the popular comic – he will be the voice of Hal Jordan in the new DC & Warner Bros. animated film, GREEN LANTERN: EMERALD KNIGHTS.
Fillion will be joined in the film by Elisabeth Moss, who will voice Arisia, a young recruit in the Green Lantern Corps. Other actors on board to lend their voices include Henry Rollins (Kilowog), Jason Isaacs (Sinestro) and Arnold Vosloo (Abin Sur.) Rowdy Roddy Piper, Kelly Hu and Wade Williams are also set to be involved.
Fillion, best known for his starring turn in Joss Whedon’s Firefly series, is a favorite among sci-fi fans around the world. He previously worked with DC animation, voicing Steve Trevor in the animated Wonder Woman movie, and was also involved in the Justice League cartoon. Currently, Fillion stars in the crime drama Castle on ABC.
Before Reynolds was officially cast in the role, many hoped that Fillion would play the popular superhero – a fan-made trailer even made the rounds on the web back in 2009 promoting him for the project.
Green Lantern: Emerald Knights will be executive produced by Bruce Timm, and directed by Lauren Montgomery, Jay Oliva and Christopher Berkeley. The film will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and will be available via download on June 7th, coinciding with the June 17th release of the Warner Bros. live-action Green Lantern blockbuster.
