Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy Join JACK THE GIANT KILLER
It’s definitely the year of the fairy tale. There has been plenty of news lately about the various Snow White adaptations floating around, and now there’s movement on director Bryan Singer’s JACK THE GIANT KILLER, which is based on the ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ story. The Wrap reports that Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy have both been cast in the film.
In Jack the Giant Killer, peace between humans and giants is endangered when a princess is kidnapped and taken to the giants’ kingdom and a young farmer tries to save her. Tucci will play Roderick, the king’s villainous advisor while Nighy has been cast as Fallon, the two-headed giant leader. John Kassir, who is best known for voicing the cryptkeeper in the animated series ‘Tales from the Cryptkeeper,’ will also play one of Fallon’s heads.
The role of Jack has not yet been cast, but there have been rumors that Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) is being considered by Singer. Filming is set to begin next month in London.
What do you think of this casting? Any ideas about who should play Jack?
