Nick Fury Will Appear In THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER With Female Sidekick
It’s been confirmed! After his appearances in Iron Man and Iron Man 2, Nick Fury will officially appear in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER and THOR! It’s unclear exactly HOW Marvel will add Fury to the films, but according to Slash Film, his scenes will probably be limited post-credit appearances.
Initially Samuel L. Jackson stated the Fury would not be appearing in Thor, but after his stop on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Jackson did say that he had a day of shooting on both Thor and Captain America.
He also stated that for The Avengers, Fury will have a female sidekick! We’d heard rumors about this, with Demi Lovato’s name being thrown around as a possible option, but it seems that we have a short list of actresses that Jackson is testing with.
The Hollywood Reporter states that Morena Baccarin, star of the television show V is one of the actresses being looked at by director Joss Whedon. Baccarin has worked with Whedon before on Firefly and the movie spin off Serenity.
In addition to Baccarin, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Cobi Smulders, and Jessica Lucas are testing for the female role, which would only be the second large female role in The Avengers. Currently we’ll see Iron Man, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Captain American, Thor, and the Hulk. so bring on some girl power in addition to Black Widow!
The Avengers is slated for a late April start.
