Ryan Gosling to Star in LOGAN’S RUN
Looks like Ryan Gosling is set to reunite with his Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn. Deadline.com reports that the pair are set to work together again on a remake of LOGAN’S RUN.
The film will be a remake of the original 1976 futuristic drama about a man who tries to outrun a mandatory death sentence for 30-year old’s on the planet.
Studios all over town have been reportedly offering all kinds of roles to the actor, who is eager to reunite with the director he just worked with on Drive. In that film, Gosling plays a stunt driver who moonlights as a heist wheel man.
In Logan’s Run, Gosling is set to play Logan 5. The character is a “Sandman” who is tasked with the job of putting to permanent sleep those who try to escape mandatory death, which is the downside of the blissful existence in the domed city that protects the inhabitants who survived a 23rd Century apocalypse.
The age of extinction was originally 21 in the William F. Nolan novel, but it was bumped up in the film to match up with original star Michael York. Fortunately that age also works great for Gosling, who just turned 30.
Next up for Gosling is a starring role with Steve Carell in the upcoming Warner Bros comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love.
