New Version Of Justin Bieber’s NEVER SAY NEVER To Be Released In Theatres
Bieber fever? Apparently! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount’s Insurge Pictures will release a new version of the Justin Bieber starrer NEVER SAY NEVER. The new release, which is being heralded as a “director’s fan cut,” will have a one-week exclusive run in theatres beginning February 25.
The new version will have at least 40 minutes of new footage, and will play only in 3D runs in the U.S. and Canada. Director Jon M. Chu has reportedly cut 30 minutes of footage from the original film in order to accommodate the additional scenes. The film has already registered as a financial success, having grossed $51.4 million in its first 11 days, but the move is designed to take advantage of Bieber’s avid fans and generate repeat viewing as it heads into its third week of release.
Among the new footage that will be seen in the updated version – more of Bieber’s home and family life, as well as new songs and special sneak peeks of the film’s premiere around the country. The original Never Say Never will continue playing in theatres around the country.
