Ewan McGregor In Talks To Join JACK THE GIANT KILLER
Heat Vision is reporting that actor Ewan McGregor is talks to join the cast of JACK THE GIANT KILLER, a new project from New Line that is being directed by Bryan Singer.
The film is modern re-telling of the classic Jack and the Beanstalk tale, and centers on a farm boy that heads up a search to rescue a princess who has been taken hostage by a giant. Already slated to be on board for the production are Nicholas Hoult, Stanely Tucci, Bill Nighy and John Kassir. Hoult will play the peasant farm boy, Tucci will play the villain (an advisor to the king who is obsessed with power), and Nighy and Kassir will play the two-headed leader of the giants. If cast, McGregor would play the leader of the king’s guard, who helps fight the giants.
Currently, there has been no casting set for the role of the princess, though actresses Adelaide Kane and Eleanor Tomlinson are said to be in contention for the role. Mostly unknown in the U.S., Kane is famous for her starring turn in Power Rangers RPM and Tomlinson was last seen in Alice In Wonderland.
Jack The Giant Killer is scheduled to begin shooting in London at the end of March.
