Quentin Tarantino’s Western Could Start Filming This Year
Hang onto your hats (no pun intended), Tarantino fans. Looks like the man who can do any movie about any subject and make it not only work, but amazing, is set to add “western” to the list of genres he’s conquered.
/Film reports that the iconic filmmaker whose last masterpiece was a little film called Inglorious Basterds, is going to make a western. Rumors started flying about the possible project last week and have now been confirmed. Word is that the film will feature Christoph Waltz and perhaps Franco Nero, Keith Carradine and Treat Williams.
Tarantino reportedly talked about the project at the Weinstein Company Oscar afterparty and said that he’s on track to deliver the script within two months. The movie is seemingly coming from The Weinstein Company and will reportedly go before cameras as early as later this year.
This marks quite a turnaround for the director, who was previously known for obsessing over his scripts for many more months at a time. Not that I ever complained (okay maybe I didn’t complain *much*). I have loved every movie he’s ever made and I have no doubt I will love this one as well, no matter how long it takes to make.
