Disney Looks to Tom Hanks and Tim Allen For JUNGLE CRUISE
For those of us that have been to the Magic Kingdom, we’re familiar with the ride JUNGLE CRUISE, where you float lazily down a river filled with jungle animals. According to Deadline, Disney is looking to take their Jungle Cruise ride and make it a live action film; just like they did for The Pirates of the Caribbean films.
The difference here is that the studio wants Toy Story 3 stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to appear in the film. With the success of the Toy Story series (Toy Story 3 passed the billion dollar gross mark, and was nominated for Best Picture), pairing Hanks and Allen in another family film is a great move by Disney.
The studio has signed on Roger S. H. Schulman to pen the script for Jungle Cruise, with David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman (nominated for Best Picture for The Fighter) will produce. There’s currently no director attached to Jungle Cruise.
